Indian Premier League 2014 season opener will feature the match between the defending champion Mumbai Indians and the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium on Wednesday.
The Mumbai Indians have retained four of their main players from last year and also managed to retain Pragyan Ojha in the team. They also tried to fill the gap left out in the team line up after the retirement of master blaster Sachin Tendulkar with the inclusion of Michael Hussey in the squad. They own one of the most balanced attack that is likely to give them an edge over the opponents. The likely MI line-up will include: Michael Hussey, Aditya Tare (wk), Rohit Sharma (c), Ambati Rayudu, Kieron Pollard, Corey Anderson, Harbhajan Singh, Apporva Wankhede/Jalaj Saxena, Pragyan Ojha, Zaheer Khan, Lasith Malinga.
On the other hands, the knight riders did not give a remarkable performance in the last season after attaining a victory in season 5 of the IPL. They have reduced the fat from the team and has retained most of their players at much lesser price than what they bought them for after season 3. With Gambhir leading the side again this time in search for a chance to get back into Indian colors KKR side is motivated to perform better this year.
