Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Daredevils will face each other in the 8th match of IPL 2014 at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi on Monday.
Chennai lost their opening game of the tournament against Kings XI Punjab by six wickets on Friday despite posting a mammoth 205. The two-time title holders were found wanting in the bowling department as Punjab chased down the seemingly tough target easily seven balls to spare thanks to their star batsmen Glenn Maxwell and David Miller. Still their batting look reasonably in form as proved by the half centuries by both openers Brendon McCullum and Dwayne Smith. However, their bowling attack need to show some improvement as the pace of neither Ashish Nehra nor Mohit Sharma caused much discomfort to the rivals in the opening clash. The likely CSK line-up will include: Mahendra Singh Dhoni (captain), Suresh Raina, R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Faf du Plessis, Brendon McCullum, Dwayne Smith, Mohit Sharma, Ben Hilfenhaus, Mithun Manhas, Ishwar Pandey.
On the other hands, Delhi get able to make a nice comeback against Kolkata Knight Riders after suffering a huge loss to Royal Challengers Bangalore in their opening match. They are now high in confidence as the stand-in skipper Dinesh Karthik and JP Duminy played brilliantly. Duminy performed well enough at the finishing point to seal the match decisively in favour of his team. DD’s regular captain Kevin Pietersen’s availability for the upcoming clash is still unconfirmed. However, he has told that his finger injury is almost recovered. The probable DD squad will include: Dinesh Karthik (captain), Murali Vijay, Ross Taylor, Mohammed Shami, Jaydev Unadkat, Manoj Tiwary, Mayank Agarwal, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Jean-Paul Duminy, Shahbaz Nadeem, Jimmy Neesham.
