On Day 2 of the opening test match, Tintashe Panyangara delivered his career best 5 for 59 to help Zimbabwe keep the match evenly poised against Bangladesh by the day’s close on Sunday.
Using short balls to unsettle batsmen, Panyangara’s maiden five-for helped dismiss Bangladesh for 254 after which Zimbabwe made 5 for 0 to trail by 9 runs. Vusi Sibanda was batting on 5 with Regis Chakabva on 0 at stumps.
Bangladesh took a 14-run lead in the first innings in response to Zimbabwe’s 240. Captain Mushfiqur Rahim was the tops-corer for the home side with 64 while Mahmudullah made 63. Mominul Haque with 53 was the other notable contributor.
