The series is almost over with Sri Lanka winning it with 4-2. Now they will play the 7th and last ODI game against England at Colombo on Tuesday.

The series had been fairly close with neither side really gaining momentum after winning a match but Sri Lanka will be relieved they got the home victory . There has been plenty of speculation surrounding Kumar Sangakkara’s ODI career and how his retirement will affect the team and it looks like it could harm their chances in the near future since he plays a major anchoring role for them in crucial times. Sri Lanka is required to find another outlet to score runs apart from the experienced trio of Jayawardene, Sangakkara, Dilshan and perhaps their best player on form Angelo Matthews otherwise the future team may not be strong enough to retain their momentum. The likely Sri Lankan line-up will include: 1 Tillakaratne Dilshan, 2 Dimuth Karunaratne/Dinesh Chandimal, 3 Kumar Sangakkara (wk), 4 Mahela Jayawardene, 5 Angelo Mathews (capt), 6 Lahiru Thirimanne, 7 Seekkuge Prasanna, 8 Thisara Perera, 9 Sachithra Senanayake, 10 Suranga Lakmal 11 Lakshan Sandakan.

On the other hands, England will be disappointed about their continued lean spell in world cricket. Joe Root remains England’s most consistent batsman over the past year while other players in that batting order are playing for a World Cup spot. The probable English squad will include: 1 Alastair Cook, 2 Alex Hales, 3 James Taylor, 4 Joe Root, 5 Eoin Morgan, 6 Jos Buttler (wk), 7 Ravi Bopara, 8 Ben Stokes, 9 Chris Jordan, 10 James Tredwell, 11 Harry Gurney.
