Venus and Abbas-Mustan have been traditionally producing some good music over the years. Right from the days of Khiladi, they have ensured that regardless of the genre, music plays a good role in their films. Hence, when a comic affair Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon arrives with Kapil Sharma making his debut, expectations are good. It is surprising though to see multiple composers and lyricists being roped in for the soundtrack since Ratan Jain and Abbas-Mustan could well have ensured a single team delivering here.

Nevertheless, one looks forward to what this huge team of composers (Dr Zeus, Tanishk Bagghi, Javed-Mohsin & Amjad – Nadeem) and lyricists (Shabbir Ahmed, Arafat Mehmood, Raj Randjodh, Mavi Singh & Bhinda Bawakhel) bring on the table.

MUSIC

It is a euphoric beginning for Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon, what with Kanika Kapoor bringing her magic all over again for 'Jugni Peeke Tight Hai'. Right from the days of 'Baby Doll' [Ragini MMS 2], Kanika has made sure that her songs have that foot tapping appeal for a listener. This is what one gets all over again in this celebration number which by the way yet again pays homage to dancing while being drunk! A 'desi' number which has Divya Kumar in good form as well, it also has a repeat version towards the end and one doesn't mind giving this one a repeat hearing.

For those in the Gujarat-Maharashtra belt, there is good fun in the offering with Wajid taking charge for 'DJ Bajega To Pappu Nachega'. An immensely catchy number with a celebratory appeal to it, it gets on your lips in the first hearing itself and rest assured, it is going to be a hot favorite in the Dandiyas this Navaratri. Wajid takes over the stage by coming behind the mike and gets good company of Ritu Pathak and Shalmali Kholgade who are clearly having a good time too. Meanwhile Danish Sabri chips in with a rap portion and plays his part well too.

The 'sur' of the album changes intermittently with 'Samandar' which instantly reminds one of 'Falak Tak Chal' [Tashan]. Sung by Jubin Nautiyal and Shreya Ghoshal, the song is in the same serene setting as the Akshay Kumar-Kareena Kapoor setting. Now one waits to see which of the four heroines does Kapil Sharma serenade in this one (or would it be all four?) as the easy-on-ears appeal of the song makes sure that you do add it to your playlist. In the same mode as a Yash Raj or Dharma Production, 'Samandar' is the only romantic number in the album which is otherwise dominated by back to back fun numbers.

Dr. Zeus comes back on the scene with 'Bam Bam' which is in the same space as 'Manali Trance' [The Shaukeens]. Yet another number in the album which deals with intoxication and has some fun lyrics to add on as well, this one has newcomer Kaur B taking charge who brings on a seductive appeal. She is joined by Kapil Sharma & Dr. Zeus and together they keep the trance mood on for this dance number which also finds a 'remix version' for itself. One now waits to see how it is picturised as just like 'Manali Trance', it would all boil down to how it looks on screen.

This is followed by yet another foot tapping number that has beats ruling the show right from the onset. A number which is in the same mode as numerous other non-film independent Punjabi tracks, 'Billi Kat Gayee' is a fun number which gets into the groove the moment Ikka comes on the scene. His rap portion is what elevates the song big time and the fun lyrics that accompany are just fine for the situation where Kapil is finding himself amidst as many as three wives. No wonder, the song is repeated in a 'remix version'.

Last to arrive is 'Hum To Yaaro Latak Gaye' which – guess what – starts with the sound of liquor being poured in a glass. A situational number where Kapil Sharma is caught in a drunken sojourn, the stand-up comedian also turns into a singer here. Overall, this short number doesn't leave much of an impact and is best left ignored.

OVERALL

The music of Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon delivers on expected lines and boasts of quite a few celebration numbers, some of which can also be expected to find an entry into a DJ's list. Rest assured, none of the songs would slow down the pace of the film and fit in perfectly well in the fun narrative expected from Abbas-Mustan.
