An Oshawa doctor was arrested this week following an historical sexual assault investigation involving a former patient.
Investigators from the Major Crime Sexual Assault/Child Abuse Unit began the investigation in November 2011 after being approached by the alleged victim. The historical sexual assaults took place between 1993 and 1998 while the victim was a patient of the accused Oshawa doctor.
The 34-year-old victim from Oshawa alleges she was under the care of the doctor and was sexually assault on numerous occasions. These offences began when the victim was 16 years of age and continued until she was in her early twenties.
On Tuesday January 10, 2012, investigators arrested the accused, without incident. Police want to ensure there are no other victims.
Robert Verdonk, age 56, of Ravenscroft Crescent in Ajax is charged with: Sexual Exploitation x 2 and Sexual Assault. The accused was held for a bail hearing.
I’d like to know when you are going to update this to the fact that Dr. Robert Verdonk was CLEARED OF ALL CHARGES? He’s a good man who was ripped of his dignity and dozens of us as his patients have lived without a doctor for over 2 years because one ‘woman’ deccomment_IDed to file false allegations against him. So when are you going to update this to HE’S BEEN CLEARED rather than just report the bad?
