The County Commissioner Mr. David Marial Gumke has said.

Commissioner Marial affirmed that 2011 was a year for achievement to the Republic of the South Sudan and he believed that in 2012 the country will focus on the development initiatives.

“My message to the people of Rumbek East and South Sudan at large is to observe peace and order during Christmas and be united as South Sudanese people,” said the Commissioner.

Commissioner Marial also clarified that his County had settled most murder cases in the previous Special Court set up in June but some misdemeanours were still pending. He explained that cattle raiders will be dealt with according to the law since the vice was escalating in the County.

Marial assured that, “we are also engaging the security sector since Rumbek East County is seriously being affected by tribal conflict and cattle raiding internally and outside Lakes State. We are now in reconciliation process.”

Marial called upon Lakes State and all South Sudanese to begin building a better nation for the future.
