Dr. Riek Machar Teny-Dourghon The report by South Sudan Vice President Dr. Riek Machar Teny-Dourghon dated 21/2/2012 to South Sudan president has received criticisms by the entire Lakes State youth as well as traditional chief’s authorities.

Rumbek North County held a meeting last Sunday at Maper County Headquarters and condemned the VP’s involvement in the 1991 – 1994 communal violence resulting to many deaths.

The participants vowed to skip the upcoming conference in Madol next week.

The Madol youths press statement read in part; 
“The youth of Pakam community would like to inform Lakes State people and South Sudanese in general that the conference proposed to be held in Madol has been contaminated by Country Vice President Dr. Riek Machar and therefore, we are not part of that conference. The Vice President’s letter dated 21 February, 2012, quoted the conference venue Madol as part of Mayendit of Unity State is an explosive statement to local community of Madol and Pakam at large”
