While Jacob Upio who worked as a medical assistant for the SPLA division said in Dakumo camp that 5 combatants died last week while over 30 men are under medication.

Mr. Upio appealed to those who didn’t receive vaccines to go for vaccination since prevention is better than cure.

Dangachak and Dakumo areas are the most affected with dire need of emergency services to rescue the situation.

“We have already received the measles prevention vacancies from the State Ministry of Health but the vaccines are not enough. We also lack transportation to some affected areas,” Natale said.

“Currently there is an ongoing vaccination campaign supported by United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF), we have sent out our mobile teams to the field even though there are other cases that need critical attention,” he added.

“We are also urging the State Ministry of Health to intervene in supplying the whole area before the situation gets worst,” Natale said.
