The South Sudanese Minister for Telecommunication and Postal Services Madut Biar Yel who presided over the re-opening said that the post office will greatly improve communication through such services as money order transfers, savings, parcels deposit and delivery, general mail, express mail, stamp sales and other services.
Commissioner of Yei River County Juma David congratulated the people of Yei and the National Ministry of Telecommunication and Postal Services for the re-opening of the post office.
He urged citizens and the business communities to utilise the services offered by the post office.
An official from the Central Equatoria State Ministry of Telecommunication and Postal Services Faraj Juma Zaeid, who represented the State Minister of Information and Communication, said that the Ministry will open post offices in all the counties in the state.
Zaeid added that there will be branches at the payams so as to ease communication and services delivery to the people in the State.
Yei River County has one of most developed communication infrastructure in South Sudan.
