The Commissioner of Rumbek Central County Abraham Mayen Kuc said his two cattle camps; Buoi and Rieth were reportedly raided by youth from Cueibet County. 

“During the raids, 106 cows were stolen in Buoi and 60 cows were reportedly stolen in Rieth cattle camp,” said Mayem.

Cueibet County Commissioner Isaac Mayom Malek also said pastoralists from Rumbek Central County stole cattle from Akuec-ping near Abiriu Payam, East of Cueibet County on Thursday.

“More than 275 cows were stolen in Akuec-ping cattle camp by youth from Rumbek Central County. One boy was abducted together with the cows,” said Mayom.

“I seriously condemn such acts of stealing cattle and abducting young boys,” he said.

Mayom added that more 136 cows from Cueibet community members have been reportedly stolen by pastoralists from Rumbek North County and Warrap state.

Police have been deployed in the area to assist recovering the stolen cattle.
