The newly appointed Minister Arkangelo Anyar Anyar said that about 424 boys had been trained in carpentry, welding and construction.

The training was facilitated by the Ministry in conjunction with UNICEF and Don Bosco Missionaries in an effort to improve the lives of the street children to contribute to nation building.

The minister disclosed that four states; Western Bahr el Ghazal, Warrap, Northern Bahr el Ghazal and Lakes States are to discuss plans to establish a training centre for the street children.

The ministry recently conducted a training workshop to the police officers in Wau on how to handle children’s rights as part of enforcing laws on children when handing their cases.

Anyar urged youths to embrace positive cultural practices that can bring development to the new nation.
