The Western Bahr el Ghazal State Governor Rizik Zackaria Hassan on Wednesday issued a gubernatorial order for establishing the county legislative councils.

According to the statement, this was “In exercise of the powers conferred upon me under the South Sudan local government act: 2009, Chapter V articles 25, 26 and read together with article 99 (e) of the Transitional Constitutional of WBGS 2011.”

The commencement order nominated 35 members from each three Counties, Raga, Jur River and Wau counties as well as 35 members respectively from Wau town council municipality. The total nominee recorded 140 representatives.

The legislative counties council will be trusted with passing county commissioner activities as well as other government developmental relevant work in the county.
