“H.E President Salva Kiir has issued Easter greetings to all the citizens of South Sudan. He wishes every one of us Happy Easter,” South Sudanese Minister of Presidential Affairs Hon. Emmanuel Lowila passed the President’s Easter message to the press yesterday in Juba.

“This is the period we as Christians remember the suffering of Jesus and the crucification of Jesus but much more the resurrection of Jesus which as Christians gives us hope,” he continued.

Daniel Deng Bul, the Most Rev. and Archbishop of the Episcopal Church of the Sudan (ECS) on Wednesday called Christians to welcome the death of Christ who died for the salvation of mankind.

He appealed to the people of South Sudan to unit as children of God and refrain from division on political grounds.

Meanwhile, offices in Juba are closed till Tuesday as government dispatches civil servants both in public and private sector for the marking of the Easter festive.
