Last month Sudanese President Omar Hassan Al Bashir has threatened to shutdown South Sudan oil flowing through its country alleging Juba is supporting rebels in Southern Kordofan and Blue Nile States fighting his government.

Juba has repeatedly denied the allegations.

Dr. Barnaba Marial, South Sudan government Spokesperson yesterday told press after a Political and Security committee meeting chaired by the Vice President Dr. Riek Machar that the meeting’s discussants were on preparation to receive the AU team.

It also discussed Omar Bashir’s letter to South Sudan on his decision to shutdown the South Sudan oil flow in his country within sixty days on grounds that Juba is backing rebels fighting him.

Bashir’s declaration made last month hiked tensions between Juba and Khartoum to brink though visit of South Sudanese Vice President Dr. Riek Machar to Khartoum later cold down the situation.

Machar told press early this month he met Sudanese Vice President Ali Osman Taha and President Bashir and had reached to a number of resolutions including commitment to the Integrated Matrix which spells the clear implementation of the Cooperation Agreement.

South Sudan government following Machar’s return described his visit “successful” though it’s yet unclear if Bashir’s decision will be reversed.

The discussants yesterday chatted out program of South Sudan further engagement with the AU in the continuing talks with Sudan on the implementation of the Cooperation Agreement.
