Hon. Clement Juma Mbugoniwia made the appeal upon arrival from Juba over the weekend as he was welcomed by the director general in the ministry Eng. Richard Issa Mizani.

The minister said an airport is a top priority for the state due to the fact that the roads are dilapidated in most parts of the state.
“With Yambio international airport, it will help the country as the state is the bread basket,” Mbugoniwia.

“The state can supply the country with many resources because the economic potential of the state is very huge.  If exploited, it will produce more resources than what we get from the oil.”

While in Juba, the minister said he met with the relevant authorities and members of parliament representing the state to sell the idea and follow it up.

WES produces lots of agricultural produce but because of the poor road network, most of it does not reach to the main markets in Juba and other state capitals.
