The Eastern Equatoria State Governor Louis Lobong Lojore has urged the state leaders to embrace hard work and accountability.

Speaking yesterday at a meeting with the state law makers in Torit, Governor Lojore termed transparency and accountability as key attributes of any leader in a public office.

“The role of my government will always be to facilitate communities in the state to initiate viabledevelopmental programmes. Development can only be realised if we have accountable leaders”, he said.

He encouraged self-reliance initiatives among the communities as one of the avenues to fightingdependency syndrome in South Sudan.

He urged leaders to unite the state residents and lure them into serious engagement in the productive sector, notably agricultural production.

The Governor revealed that his government has been striving to improve people’s livelihoods in the state in the last four years.
