Mark Akio Ukinbul, the Minister of information in the state said that the attack was merely launched by armed robbers on the highway and not the SPLM-O as they claim.
He told the press that, a group of robbers ambushed two lorries, between Kerepi-Moli of Pageri Corridor in Magwi County of Eastern Equatoria State on Tuesday at around 11:30 PM. One of the drivers was wounded and the lorry was set ablaze.
He also added that cases of robbery have been on the rise during the holiday season.
The next round of the South Sudan peace talks was expected to begin on Wednesday 17th December.
