The Commissioner’s convoy came under attack after leaving Sofo Payam where he had gone to visit thefamily of those killed in Sofo last Thursday on 22nd January in yet another attack that was believed to have been carried out by the SPLM in Opposition.
The convoy was fired at just six miles away from Sofo at Kaburi Modobuble according to the Governor.
On 18 January 2015, four people were also killed while fishing.
Governor Rizik, said it was difficult to track down the perpetrators because of their random movements. He said that SPLA forces have been deployed in Sofo area.
The Sunday attack comes just days after the SPLM warring factions signed an agreement in Arusha Tanzania last Wednesday and agreed on the cessation of hostilities.
Efforts to reach the SPLM-O was unsuccessful.
