Yesterday is crucial day for determination of the possibility for achievement of peace in South Sudan. The events that took place in Addis Ababa Yesterday ranging from the two close door meetings of our president Salve Kiir and oppositional leader Dr. Riek Machar Teny; The expected 29th Extraordinary Summit of IGAD Heads of State and Government on South Sudan and The AU Peace and Security Council meeting.

All these events never produced any promising results that give peace chance. Community Empowerment for Progress Organization-CEPO was disappointed with the results of yesterday events on South Sudan

The two close doors meetings of the South Sudan warring parties ended without any tangible deal for reaching peace, the 29th Extraordinary summit of IGAD heads of state and government is adjourned and AU peace and security council outcome was the AU commission of inquiry on South Sudan report cannot be made public until peace is achieve.

These are all disappointing results. These justifies that resolution of South Sudan political crisis may take time and that means more death and suffering of the innocent citizens and specifically women and children.  The level of mistrust and lack of confidence among the leadership of South Sudan warring parties is very high to the level that they never think of compromising and accommodating for the sake of peace and stoppage of the violence in the country. There is need for much work to be done in building trust and confidence between the leaders of the warring parties. This should be the responsibility of IGAD member states

In Strong terms, CEPO is urging the AU head of state and government to make remarkable move on the resolution of the situation of South Sudan political crisis otherwise AU should expect more killing and suffering of the people of South Sudan. The great fear is that the more resolution of South Sudan political crisis delay the more revolutionary movements will emerge up.
