Juab Feb. 18th, 2015.  The British Aid worker Mr. Muech was confirmed to be worked as an advisor at Carter Center was shot dead at a location at Manga Teen near Civicon Co. Company by “unidentified” soldiers in South Sudan’s capital, Juba. Community Empowerment for Progress Organization condemned the killing of the British aid worker in South Sudan.  CEPO treat the act of the killing the British aid worker as act of person(s) that are enemies of peace and criminal-minded.

Mr. Edmund Yakani, Executive Director of CEPO said targeting aid worker is absolutely unacceptable and it is violation of the international humanitarian law.  The recent increase in targeting humanitarian society by robbing their vehicles by always armed men is absolutely an indicator of threat towards the humanitarian work including increase is creation of road blocks that resulted to harassment and intimidation of humanitarian aid workers. These acts should be stop and the perpetrators should be identified and held accountability by the government  

CEPO is urging the government of South Sudan to bring the propitiators behind the killing of British aid work to book and they should face the law. it is unfortunately situation in South Sudan that these days criminal-minded individual are targeting the humanitarian society. There is regularly looting of NGOs vehicles by armed criminals especially in Juba and now is turning for killing of aid workers. CEPO is expecting the government to act on this situation facing the humanitarian aid society immediately
