Egyptian doctors who arrived Wau, Western Bahr el Ghazal state last week on Friday have conducted over 100 surgical operations on patients suffering from different kinds of diseases.

WAU, May 25, 2015 [Gurtong] – According to the Minister of Health in the state, Dr. Issac Clerto Hassan, in their fourth day at the Wau Teaching Hospital, about 1,183 patients have already been examined and given medical treatment.

“164 others have already been operated on, with different kinds of operations including, eye, kidney and many others just within the past three days,” said the minister.

Dr. Clerto was speaking following the visit of the state Governor, Rizik Zackaria Hassan at the Wau Teaching Hospital today morning to inspect the ongoing one week mission of the Egyptian surgical operations at the hospital.

The doctors will be in Wau for a period of seven days which is in line with a cooperation agreement between the two governments of South Sudan and Egypt.
