JUBA, 28 May 2015 [Gurtong] – Alah County Executive Director Deng Ali told Gurtong the killings occurred during a cattle raid at the camp that lies between Abyei and Warrap State.

He added that in the Sunday clashes close to 20 people were killed with the wounded being taken to the nearby hospital in Warrap State.

He at the same time said that the people displaced during the clashes have since returned to their home.

He urged the youth to unite and provide protection to the vulnerable groups, saying the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA) forces had failed to assure residents of the remote area of adequate security.
