WAU, June 10, 2015 [Gurtong]- Speaking to the state Special Forces at the police headquarters today, Governor Rizik told the night patrollers to shoot at criminals seen breaking into shops and attacking residents at night in Wau town.
Governor Rizik said Western Bahr el Ghazal state is facing an increase of insecurity, whereby last month the state witnessed it first rebels’ attack in Bazia Payam and a continuous break-ins to shops and houses by robbers during night hours.
He however also pointed out some weaknesses by the the police forces saying negligence and lack of discipline among the police force has contributed to the increase of crimes in Wau town.
He said the state has about 3000 police personnel most of whom are not active.
