WAU, June 15, 2015 [Gurtong] –“These rebels were just moving through Namatina, they thought that there are no forces in the area but when they fell into the ambush of our forces, they were clearly investigated until they accepted,” said SPLA division five commander Maj. General David Manyok.

“They were going to join their colleagues in the forest when they were asked by our security,” said Manyok.

The Governor of Western Bahr el Ghazal, Rizik Zacharia Hassan said that the capture of the rebels proves their presence in Wau.

“There are some people who used to say there are no rebels in the area of Wau County forest and now you have all seen today, there is no doubt beyond this,” said Governor Rizik.

“The arrest of these soldiers demonstrates our power and control of Wau County’s forest,” he added.
