WAU- 13, July 2015 [Gurtong] – Western Bahr el Ghazal State Ministry of Health has received 734 boxes of medical emergency supply from the International Medical Corps (IMC).
This is the first provisional medical support to Western Bahr el Ghazal State Wau Teaching Hospital by IMC since it signed a cooperation agreement in April this year with the State Ministry of health to support the hospital with necessary medical facilities.
While handing over the facilities to Wau Teaching Hospital, the IMC Manager, Tadese Fesseha acknowledged that the medical corps was providing antibiotics and anti-malaria drugs including quinine for the sake of helping the hospital in emergency needs in the treatment of common diseases mostly affecting people in the State.
“We believe these drugs will help the hospital in treating common diseases and will help the hospital to provide its nearest centers within Counties, Payams and Bomas,” he said.
Meanwhile the State Health Minister, Isaac Cleto Hassan says the medical contribution by IMC came at the right time in Wau Teaching Hospital.
He said the medical staff at Wau Teaching Hospital will give the drugs free of charge to patients who are in need of the drugs.
