“President Salva Kiir has endorsed the preliminary agreement that was signed between the State government and the Arrow boy in Yambio last month,” said Rizik.

“The agreement is meant to end hostilities in the area and this will allow the boys return and join their families,” he added.

He also said that a committee will be sent to the area where the arrows boys are for a final agreement between the two groups.

He further said that the move is a major step to ensure there is stability in Western Equatoria State.

“For the other groups which did not make a commitment, still the door is open and I have come again to engage myself with them in dialogue so that we come to a peaceful settlement. It is important we stay in a peaceful environment to build the State and ensure all the people in the State go back to their homes and cultivate.” He concluded.

In the past few months, fighting between the Arrow boys and the SPLA has left many displaced and several lives lost.

In the document which was signed, the youths demanded that killing innocent Equatorians without justice must stop.

The group also called for appreciation and acknowledgement for the job which the Arrow Boys did well in fighting the Lord’s Resistance Army in the state and sacrificing their lives to protect the community.
