On Thursday, the coordinator for the humanitarian agencies operating in the country, Eugene Owusu visited Wau town to assess the level of UN aid agencies response to the situation.
On Tuesday, regional and international partners urged the State government to grant UNMISS and international humanitarian agencies unconstrained access and movement around Wau town and the countryside.
They urged the government to allow aid agencies to provide assistant to those displaced within and outside Wau.
Governor Mayar said orders have been issued to all the organized forces during a security meeting held in Wau.
“All the checkpoints have been detached with clear directives from the security committee to the army not to prevent any citizens from moving and that those who are returning home are free to come back to the town” he said.
