The Governor of Western Lakes State, Abraham Makoi Bol Kodi is appealing to humanitarian organisations operating in the State to assist flood victims in the State.

RUMBEK, 01 September 2016 [Gurtong]-He called for assistance in terms of food and shelter as many residents have been displaced following the floods that have destroyed not only infrastructure but farms.

Speaking to the media on Wednesday the Governor also extended his call of assistance to the national government in Juba to intervene and rescue the deplorable situation.

Makoi also said that construction of roads has been halted following the floods but work will resume as soon as the situation is back to normal.
