Those of us that have been following the John Podesta email releases will find this email dated Monday November, 3 2008 particularly ironic:

the irony of the john podesta email hack

November 3, 2008 was the day before Barack Obama won his ticket to the Oval Office.  The original email is from Denis McDonough who is currently the White House Chief of Staff and who was senior foreign policy advisor to Barack Obama during the 2008 presidential election campaign.  He suggests to Daniel Tarullo, President Obama’s appointee to the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve and former economic advisor to the Obama campaign, that there is a need to ensure that emails sent by the campaign are secured by encryption as you can see in the highlighted section at the bottom of the email chain.

After getting a response from Daniel Tarullo, Denis McDonough forwarded the email to the desk of John Podesta, using his Gmail account, suggesting that the Obama insiders were facing a cyber threat that required the input of a “techie” as you can see in the highlighted section at the top of the email chain.

So much for that idea!  Thanks to the group’s inaction on the email encryption issue, we now have access to a treasure trove of inside information, showing us how the Obama and Clinton camps function when they think that no one is watching.
