Veterans Day Events

The 52nd annual veterans day parade is set to take place. Vice President Joe Biden and his wife, Dr. Jill Biden will attend the Veterans Day Parade. Various events have been lined up in this regard in order to honour the Nation’s heroes. 


A flag raising ceremony will be held at The National Constitution Center at 9:15 a.m. Another celebration will take place at the Watermark in Logan Square beginning at 9:30 a.m. The highlight of this celebration will be Bronze Star Vietnam veteran Carlton Jones Jr. reading his short war memoir “One Among Millions,” which has received national recognition.

At 2 p.m. on Baltimore Avenue a dedication ceremony in memory of Corporal Michael Crescenz will take place who was Philadelphia’s only Medal of Honor recipient during the Vietnam War.

Mayor Michael Nutter will attend a breakfast with local veterans in North Philadelphia and wreath laying ceremonies in Old City, Aviator Park and Penn’s Landing.

At 1:30 p.m Gloucester County and at 11 a.m. Ocean City will host a celebration.
