Shortly before 4:00 Thursday morning (04-05-12) deputies from Pico Rivera Station responded to the 4000 block of Workman Mill Road, unincorporated Whittier, regarding a “shots fired” call. When the deputies arrived at the apartment complex they discovered a man lying on the ground, inside the complex, suffering from a gunshot wound. While Los Angeles County Fire rescue personnel tended to the victim deputies discovered a second victim. The woman was found in another area inside the complex suffering from a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. The male victim was transported to a local hospital, his condition is unknown.
