Chodwi Deandre McPeters charged with murder in Houston

Houston police have arrested a suspect wanted in the fatal stabbing of a man at 9449 Briar Forest about 11 p.m. on Thursday (June 3).

The suspect, Chodwi Deandre McPeters (b/m, DOB: 10-14-76), was arrested on Friday (June 4). McPeters is charged with murder in the 262nd State District Court and is accused in the killing of a male victim, who suffered multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. M Cegielski and Senior Police Officer A. J. Palos reported:

The victim, his girlfriend and her young daughter had just arrived at the girlfriend’s apartment and were watching television. At some point, the daughter went to the closet to get a blanket and found her father (McPeters, the mother’s ex-boyfriend) hiding in the closet. McPeters, armed with a butcher knife, came out of the closet, stabbed the victim and then fled the scene.

Further investigation led to the identification of McPeters as the suspect in this case.
