A man seriously injured in a traffic accident at 6200 Southwest Freeway (South U.S. Highway 59) about 1:50 a.m. on Tuesday (June 8) has died from his injuries.

The victim, Pedro Dominguez, was transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital where he was pronounced dead on Friday (June 11).

Initial indications are Mr. Dominguez suffered a heart attack while driving, however, the official cause of death is pending an autopsy by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Arnold and Senior Police Officer R. Bymaster reported:

Mr. Dominguez was driving his blue GMC Yukon southbound on the Southwest Freeway near the Westpark Toll Road entrance ramp when he suddenly veered across three lanes and struck the center median.

He was taken to the hospital in critical condition
