New York City Weekend Bridge and Street Closures – July 17-18

One of three lanes of the Brooklyn Bridge eastbound to Brooklyn will be closed on Saturday from 6:00 am to 2:00 pm to facilitate NYCDOT bridge repairs.

Three Manhattan-bound lanes on the north roadway of the Williamsburg Bridge will be closed from 3:00 am to 3:00 pm Saturday and Sunday to facilitate NYCDOT bridge repairs (weather permitting). Two Brooklyn-bound lanes will be reversed to accommodate Manhattan-bound traffic. During these hours Manhattan-bound trucks will be detoured to the Manhattan Bridge.

The upper roadway of the Queensboro Bridge will be closed on Sunday from 5:00 am to 2:00 pm to facilitate Roosevelt Island Tram rehabilitation work (weather permitting). East 60th Street between the Queensboro Bridge lower level exit ramp and 1st Avenue will be closed from 5:00 a.m. Saturday to 6:00 p.m. Sunday. Motorists should follow the posted detour to East 61st Street. The Queensboro Bridge exit remains open at all times.

The westbound lower roadway of the George Washington Bridge will be closed from 10:00 pm Friday to 10:00 am Saturday and from 10:00 pm Saturday to 10:00 am Sunday to facilitate a Port Authority pavement rehabilitation project.

One out of three northbound lanes on Route 9A/West Street from Warren Street to Chambers Street will be closed from 5:00 am Saturday to 3:00 pm Sunday and two out of three northbound lanes will be closed Sunday from 1:00 am to 11:00 am to facilitate utility and roadway reconstruction work by New York State DOT.

Fulton Street between Church Street and Broadway will be closed Saturday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm and Sunday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm to facilitate project roadway work by the Department of Design and Construction (DDC). One lane on Church Street between Dey Street and Fulton Street will be maintained from all approaches during those hours.

Nassau Street between Ann Street and Fulton Street and Ann Street between Park Row and William Street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm to facilitate DDC roadway work.

The following streets will be closed on Saturday:

– Van Duzer Street between Beach and Wright Streets on Staten Island will be closed on Saturdays, July 17 and July 24 from noon to 8:00 pm for Van Duzer Days.
– Pitkin Avenue between Strauss and Thomas Boyland Streets in Brooklyn will be closed on Saturdays, July 17 and July 24 from noon to 5:00 pm for Weekend Walks Pitkin Summer Plazas.
– Lexington Avenue between 57th and 42nd Streets in Manhattan will be closed from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm for the East Side Rezoning Alliance Street Festival.

The following streets will be closed on Sunday:

– Stanton Street between Allen and Ludlow Streets in Manhattan will be closed on Sundays, July 18 and July 25 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm for Weekend Walks Summer Sundays on Stanton Street.
– Knickerbocker Avenue between Suydam and Starr Streets in Brooklyn will be closed on Sundays, July 18, July 25 and August 1 from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm for Weekend Walks the Sunday Scene on Knickerbocker.
– 5th Avenue between 51st and 56th Streets in Brooklyn will be closed on Sundays, July 18, July 25 and August 1 from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm for Weekend Walks Summer Plazas 5th Avenue in Sunset Park.
– The following streets in Manhattan and the Bronx will be closed from 6:00 am to 2:00 pm for the NYC Triathlon: Henry Hudson Parkway northbound between 79th Street and Mosholu Parkway; Mosholu Parkway between Henry Hudson Parkway and West Gun Hill Road; Henry Hudson Parkway (north and southbound) between Mosholu Parkway and 59th Street; 72nd Street between Riverside Drive and Central Park West.
– 5th Avenue between 50th and 72nd Streets in Manhattan will be closed from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm for the Captive Nations Parade.
– Broadway between 47th and 57th Streets in Manhattan will be closed from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm for the Motion Picture Club Movie Day Festival.
– St. Nicholas Avenue between 171st and 181st Streets in Manhattan will be closed from noon to 3:00 pm for the Juan Pablo Duarte Parade. 171st Street and 181st Street between Amsterdam and St. Nicholas Avenues will be closed for the parade formation and dispersal. St. Nicholas Avenue between 181st and 188th Streets will be closed from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm for the Juan Pablo Duarte Festival.

The times listed for closures for street fairs are for the actual times of the street fairs themselves. The streets may be closed longer to allow for set-up and breakdown. Street fair organizers are generally permitted to begin set-up at 8:00 am and breakdown must be completed by 7:00 pm.
