Lynette Mwanyoka shot dead in Houston, Texas

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of one woman and wounding of another at 2410 South Kirkwood about 10:40 p.m. on Tuesday (Aug. 3).

The deceased female, Lynette Mwanyoka, 27, of the above address, suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene. The other victim was transported to West Houston Medical Center in an unknown condition.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant K.R. Tolls and Officer J.L. French reported:

Officers responded to a shooting at the Wyndham Oaks apartments and found Ms. Mwanyoka deceased inside her apartment. A second victim was located and transported to the hospital. Two males inside the apartment when officers arrived were questioned and released pending further investigation.
