Suspect Reginald Pinckney charged with capital murder

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the death of a woman found burned at 3500 Texas Avenue about 3 a.m. on May 26, 2013.

The suspect, Reginald Pinckney (b/m, 30), is charged with capital murder in the 184th State District Court. He is accused in the killing of Crystal Shavonne Sam, 31.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant T. Pool and Senior Police Officer T. Tyler reported:
A male was walking home from work when he saw a brush fire at the above address and called 911. The Houston Fire Department responded and firefighters found the victim’s burned body within the area of the fire.

Further investigation identified Pinckney as the suspect in this case and he was subsequently charged for his role in Ms. Sam’s death.
