Fatal traffic accident at 14300 Westheimer claims life of a pedestrian man

Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 14300 Westheimer about 7:45 p.m. on Thursday (Nov. 6).

The identity of the male victim is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant C. Nickerson and Officer A. Hart reported:

The male victim, a pedestrian, was attempting to cross the main lanes of traffic in the 14300 block of Westheimer when he was struck by a maroon Jeep Liberty traveling eastbound.  The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.  The driver of the Jeep remained at the scene and was questioned and released without charges.

The investigation is continuing.
