Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at Crane Street and Eastex Freeway (North U.S. 59) service road about 7:05 p.m. on Sunday (Nov. 21).

The victim, Jonathan Ray Broussard, 38, of Houston, was transported to Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital where he later died.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Morgan and Officer R. Klementich reported:

Mr. Broussard was driving a black Nissan Frontier pickup truck at a high rate of speed, westbound in the 2900 block of Crane Street, and ran a stop sign at the intersection of the Eastex Freeway service road. The Nissan then struck a concrete wall. Broussard was taken to the hospital where he later died. His passenger, a 39 year-old male, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital with fractures to his left leg and is expected to survive.

No other vehicles were involved in this accident. The investigation is continuing.
