Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man found at 12769 Nimitz about 12:40 a.m. on Saturday (Nov. 20).

The suspect, William Edward Erickson (w/m, DOB: 10-19-79), is charged with murder in the 179th State District Court. Erickson is currently in the custody of the Polk County Sheriff’s Department on unrelated charges.

The victim, Ricardo Hidalgo Jr., 26, of Houston, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant G. Gonzales and Officer R. Olive reported:

Mr. Hidalgo was found deceased inside a motel room at the above location. Further investigation determined Hidalgo had been shot with four females and three males present in the room. The shooter fled the scene in a four-door sedan, of unknown make and model, driven by another male.

Further investigation and witness statements identified Erickson as the shooter in this case.
