Police have confirmed to have arrested the driver of an armored delivery truck, 24-year-old Trent Michael Cook, from Colorado after he reportedly went missing earlier this week. Cook’s vehicle was found empty with the engine idling in Texas.

According to a statement issued by police in Amarillo, Texas, another white male was also arrested along with Cook in Colorado Springs yesterday afternoon. Additionally, the statement added that “investigators have confirmed that money believed to have been taken in the theft has been recovered.” Police charged Cook with first-degree felony theft of over $200,000. Earlier on Monday evening, Cook’s father, 43-year-old Brian Keith Hodge, was also arrested and charged for tampering with or fabricating evidence in connection with the case. According to the police, it found the Rochester Armored Car Co. vehicle at around 7:50 a.m. on Monday, when it received a tip claiming that it was standing unoccupied. Officials confirmed that the vehicle was supposed to make rounds and fill ATM machines with cash.

Police statement said that “there was no sign of a struggle or forced entry into the vehicle” adding that “investigators have information that the suspect had discussed how a theft like this would be committed.” Investigators have refrained from releasing the complete details on the missing contents of the truck. Currently, Cook is being held at the El Paso County, Colorado jail, pending extradition to Texas. He was apprehended at a local hotel based on information provided by the Amarillo police.
