Houston police investigate into the remains found at 6910 Canniff

Houston police are awaiting autopsy results on possible human remains found at 6910 Canniff about 9:25 a.m. on Thursday (January 29).  

The identity, age, gender and cause of death are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant H. Garcia and Officer C. Cardenas reported:  

Two persons looking for scrap metal in a junk yard at the above address found what appeared to be remains of a human body.  HPD patrol officers, as well as personnel from the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, responded to the scene.  No identification was found in the remains.  

At this time, there are no known witnesses nor suspects.
