Detectives assigned to the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch announced today that an arrest has been made in the homicide of 16 year-old Prince Okorie.

On Tuesday, November 30, 2010, at approximately 4:20 pm, units from the Fourth District responded to the 800 block of Delafield Place, NW to investigate the sounds of gunshots. Upon their arrival they located a victim suffering from gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel transported the victim to a local hospital where the victim was pronounced dead.

On Friday, December 10, 2010, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested 20 year old Raymond Roseboro of Northwest, DC and charged him with Murder Two While Armed pursuant to an arrest warrant in the shooting death of Prince Okorie.

“This homicide occurred on an afternoon on a residential street,” said Police Chief Cathy L. Lanier. “Members of the community offered information and have been anxious to see this case come to a closure. Our communities have spoken – this city is not a place where you can get away with murder.”
