The victim, Jessica Garcia, 2, of the above address, was pronounced dead at Texas Children’s Hospital.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants J. Burton and R. Rodriguez reported:

HFD paramedics were dispatched to the above location in regards to an injured child. They were advised that a large television had been knocked over by the child, who was playing in the backyard. The TV fell on top of the child, causing blunt force trauma to her head. Paramedics transported the girl to the hospital where she died.

No charges are being filed at this time. The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences determined the cause of the death was blunt force trauma to the child’s head. It appears the injury was consistent with the television falling on the child’s head.
