152 criminals nabbed in Singapore police raids

Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has led the investigation that also involved inspectors from Singapore Police Force, Singapore Customs and Central Narcotics Bureau, as the part of ongoing efforts to reduce the crime rates from the streets, ended early on Saturday morning.

The officers investigated in several locations including lodging houses, entertainment outlets, coffee shops and back-alleys in Geylang, Bukit Batok, Selegie, Joo Chiat, Jalan Sultan, Toa Payoh, Ang Mo Kio, Clementi and the Marina area.

Police arrested a total of 152 people including people who were aged between 17 and 54 years old, 98 were males and 54 were females.

They were nabbed for their involvement in the gang-related activities, illegal betting, drug-related and immigration offences and selling smuggled cigarettes.  

The joint operation took 18 hours to end on Saturday in which the inspectors were in action at different locations of the island and the investigations against those arrested and nabbed were an ongoing operation according the police.
