Prime Minister Lee Hsein is expected to invite around 1500 people to a garden party being held to honor Singapore’s pioneer generation. The party will be held at the Istana and will be held on the 9th of February. The party is being held to honor that pioneer generation that helped build Singapore and which also contributed in the difficult initial years of independence.

The PM talked to reporters on Friday morning after visiting the Queenstown Neighborhood Police Centre and the Alexandra Fire Station. The party would include people from different walks of life including former politicians, unions through non-government and welfare organizations as well as community leaders. Pioneer batches of the SAF, SCDF and Police will also attend the party. These people helped build modern Singapore and made significant contributions to strengthening the nation said the Prime Minister.

The pioneer generation includes hundreds and thousands of people and it’s impossible to invite them all to one single party but to make sure that nobody gets left out, events will be held out all year to honor this generation. Prime Minister Lees visited essential services organizations on the first day of the Lunar New Year including the Police Centre as well as the Fire Station. The visit by the Prime Minister helps boost the morale of the team, claimed Azharee Arsad, a Senior Warrant Officer II at Alexandra Fire Station.
