This Thursday morning an unfortunate fatal accident took place in Malaysia which led to the death of eight people whereas also injured twenty two others. The accident occurred while the tour bus veered off a Malaysian highway and suddenly caught fire. The driver of the bus had swerved to avoid hitting a tyre in the road and the bus plunged into a ditch and overturned, the Star newspaper said on its website. It further added that two people escaped unharmed.

State news agency Bernama quoted the local police and said that all the passengers were Malaysian and that 15 of the survivors were hurt seriously. The accident occurred at around 1am near the town of Tapah on the country’s main north-south highway, as the bus was en route to a mountain resort, the reports said.

Parvinder Singh, a witness to the accident said he tried to save the women in the crash but there were many of them. “I managed to rescue several elderly women but there were many of them,” he said, “In fact, a passenger and the bus driver were trapped underneath the bus after they fell out from the bus.” Picture above shows the skeleton of the bus after it was burnt while lying on its side.
