“He loved them so much. It is going to be the most difficult thing when he gets over his physical state,” Keith Golinski, Matt Golinski’s father said.

Celebrity chef Matt Golinski, 39, lost his daughters and wife in a fire at his house. The firefighters struggled to cool off the blazes at Golinski’s home in Jacaranda Place, Tewantin. According to the neighbors, Golinski came out of his burning house screaming, “My family… my family.”

The famous chef was wretched at the death of his wife Rachel and their daughters Starlia, 13, and 12-year-old twins Sage and Willow.

Golinski was seen in a critical but stable condition with third-degree burns to 40 per cent of his body and was taken to Nambour Hospital.

“They were all beautiful and happy. It was great to see them that day,” Matt Golinski said.

According to the police, preliminary investigation reports indicate that there is nothing suspicious about the fire. Investigators have so far alleged Christmas lights or candles as the cause of the tragic incident. However, a detailed investigation finding the causes of the fire is still going on.

Rachael Golinski’s sister Leonie MacCracken said Rachael perhaps lost her life trying to save her daughters.

“I imagine that maybe Rachael could’ve gotten out of the fire, but the dead weight of her three daughters, especially 12-year-old twins with disabilities, probably meant she gave her life trying to save them,” she wrote in an open letter.

“That’s just like Rachael, to give her life for love.”
