Matthew Goodland pleads guilty in the death of Dorchester girl

On Friday, April 1, 2011, 34-year-old Matthew Goodland, of Dorchester, appeared in Moncton Provincial Court and pleaded guilty to one count each of impaired driving causing death and impaired driving causing bodily harm.

The charges stem from a motor vehicle collision on June 15, 2008, on Route 935 in Upper Rockport, near Sackville, N.B. A 17-year-old Dorchester girl died as a result of her injuries.

Matthew Goodland had previously pleaded not guilty to the charges. He is scheduled to be sentenced on May 17, 2011.
