Search for Missing Man Continues

A search for a man reported missing early yesterday morning is continuing today.

Forty-six-year-old Peter “Pete” White failed to return from a bike ride he began early Sunday morning. It is not unusual for Pete to go for long bike rides, however, his family became concerned and reported him missing at 1 a.m. on Monday. His bike was located in the parking lot of Crystal Crescent Beech and that area is the focus of the search. The area has been restricted to people assisting in the search.

To date, in excess of 100 people have been involved in the search including representatives from Halifax Regional Police, Department of Natural Resources, Canadian Coast Guard, and Halifax Regional, Musquodoboit Valley, Eastern Shore, Hants East, Hants West, Lunenburg and Colchester Ground Search and Rescue volunteers.

Pete is described as a white man, 6’ tall, 220 lbs. with salt and pepper hair. He speaks with a heavy English accent and was last seen wearing a blue K-way jacket. Police request that anyone with information on his whereabouts, call Halifax Regional Police at 490-5016 or their local police department.
